Quality and Reliability
Because, seismometers must measure ground motion stemming from Earth's seismic activity as free as possible of effects of human activity. Therefore, seismic stations are often very remote. Any maintenance can be quite difficult and, at times, painful.
The Streckeisen seismometers are constructed for long-term operation under harsh conditions, requiring minimal maintenance. To acheive this level of reliability, every instrument undergoes an extensive range of tests and quality controls utilizing our large test-infrastructure both on- and off-site.
Strategic Partnership
Streckeisen Seismic Instrumentation maintains a long standing collaboration with Quanterra, Inc. in Shirley, Massachusets, USA with whom we worked together to establish broadband-seismology decades ago. Quanterra, Inc. is a division of Kinemetrics in Pasadena, California, USA renowned for their ultra high performance seismic digitizers in the Q330 family. Our strategic partnership with Kinemetrics and Quanterra allow for a worldwide presence.
